Tobacco Use Among Middle and High School Students--United States, 2000-2009

This analysis used 2000–2009 data from the National Youth Tobacco Survey, a school-based survey that collects information on tobacco use and related behaviors and attitudes from middle school (grades 6–8) and high school (grades 9–12) students.  It includes measures on prevalence of youth tobacco use, smoking cessation, tobacco-related knowledge and attitudes, access to tobacco, media and advertising, and secondhand smoke exposure and has been conducted approximately every 2 years since 2000.
