Somali Conceptions and Expectations Concerning Mental Health: Guidelines for Mental Health Professionals

The purpose of this paper is to provide mental health professionals with some background to issues in mental health relevant to Somali refugees. The journal article provides mental health professionals with the differences between western and Somali definitions of mental illness, other mental health concerns, treating mental illness for Somalis, and  challanges and solutions in providing mental health solutions.
