Resource Mapping Tool

resource mapping tool pyramids

The Resource Mapping Tool can be used to identify gaps and overlap in programming. The tool can be updated to reflect new programs being implemented as well as new needs that arise. It can also be used once programs are implemented to assess whether they are adequately addressing the problems at each age group.

Another use for this mapping tool is to communicate to your staff, the community, and key partners the entire system of intervention and prevention programs to serve the children and youth of your community for addressing any particular problem. This may be helpful for program staff, parents, and community partners, to identify programs to refer at-risk or high-risk youth. The tool can also be used to assist with program sustainability. Once all of the key personnel and partners are mapped out, clear linkages may become evident and potential partners identified for continuing program efforts.
