Elizabeth Freeman
Ms. Freeman is a licensed clinical social worker who brings extensive experience in building collaborations among community groups, utilizing evidence based practices, and implementing systems level change to improve and expand mental health services in schools for children and families. Prior to Ms. Freeman’s work as a TAS, she was the state director for school mental health services for the SC Department of Mental Health and provided leadership to obtain federal and state grants to develop over 500 school mental health programs across SC. Ms. Freeman served as principal investigator and project director on many of these grants. Ms. Freeman has extensive experience in providing training, program development and consultation to schools, community based mental health, social service agencies, advocacy, non-profit, and faith-based organizations. Ms. Freeman is a seasoned mental health professional with over 20 years experience providing clinical services for children and families. Some of the settings Ms. Freeman has worked include community mental health, schools, pre and post adoption services, early childhood settings, juvenile justice intervention programs, nonprofit and advocacy agencies, and faith based community counseling services. Ms. Freeman has special interests in treating trauma and abuse for children and women, training parents in filial play therapy, training for faith based interventions, and implementing evidence-based practices in school and community settings. Ms. Freeman earned her B.S and Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia College and the University of South Carolina, and is licensed in advanced practice of clinical social work.
